Thank you for coming to see me for a pelvic ultrasound. During your consultation, we discussed the impact of age on fertility and ovarian reserve.

Please see below where your antral follicle count falls relative to other women of your age. The count reflects your ovarian reserve and so a low count indicates low reserve.

It is important to note that a low reserve does NOT mean a lower chance of spontaneous conception. However, should you experience sub fertility in the future and need IVF or decide to freeze your eggs, a low egg reserve can mean fewer number of eggs retrieved and this lead a lower chance of achieving live birth with IVF.
